Dr Kate Haines B.V.Sc (Hons),

Grad Dip Animal Chiropractic
Master of Chiropractic Science (Animal Chiropractic)
Dr Haines is the Practice Principal. She has a Graduate Diploma
as well as a Masters Degree in Animal Chiropractic, one of the first two in the world to gain
that qualification. She is also qualified in Acupuncture with the International Veterinary
Acupuncture Society. Chiropractic and acupuncture now comprise the majority of her workload,
combined with her efforts towards developing the practice overall. Dr Haines has extensive

and equine sports medicine, particularly equine endurance riding. |
 |
Dr Haines was founding secretary
of the Australian Veterinary Chiropractic Association, has been a member of the honorary
veterinary panels for both Victorian & Australian Endurance Riders Associations, and
is actively involved in Australian Veterinary Association South Gippsland Branch and Victorian
Division Animal Welfare Advisory panel. She is also a lecturer in Animal Chiropractic at
RMIT University , and is an Academic Associate of Melbourne University, which is why we often
have veterinary students seeing practice with us. Dr Haines has presented lectures on Animal
Chiropractic for the Post Graduate Foundation in Veterinary Science ( Sydney University ),
Melbourne University and Equitana, amongst many others.
In her rather limited spare time, Kate plays in a local Irish band, “the
Molly Maguires”, rides a road bike, paddles a kayak, and tries to keep the garden under
some sort of control. |

Dr Amanda Rhodes-Andrew
B.V.Sc
(Hons), M.A.C.V.S (Canine Surgery) |
| As senior Associate Veterinarian,
Dr Rhodes-Andrew has extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery, which is
her main interest. She achieved Membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons – Surgery
Chapter, by passing a grueling set of exams in June & July 06. She performs much of the
complicated surgery within the practice, and also spends a day each week working with a specialist
surgeon in Melbourne . Dr Rhodes-Andrew has very well developed clinical pathology skills
and oversees our practice laboratory – she also enjoys alpacas and does a mean cow caesarian!
Not much she doesn't do, really. |
 |
| Away from work, Amanda excels
as home handyperson, building donkey sheds, chook pens, carports, miles of fences and now
the exams are finished – the deck.

Dr
Helen Barker
B.V.Sc
Graduating in 2004, Dr Barker is very interested in small animal medicine,
particularly emergency medicine, and will undertake an intensive course in emergency medicine
during 2007. She also shows great aptitude for surgery and has a soft spot for animals with multiple
stomachs – goats and cows in particular. Her “never give up” attitude is a
great asset when tackling those challenging cases. Outside work, Helen is a keen bushwalker and
enjoys her quality time with Ky, the orange dog. |

Dr
Kay Mitchell B.V.Sc
Dr Mitchell joined us late 2003. She is also very skilled and experienced
in small animal medicine and surgery, and has a reputation for some of the quickest surgical
hands in the state. Her main interest is animals at the smaller end of the scale – she just
loves guinea pigs and other little fluffy things, and is very experienced in their care.
Kay is also developing dental care as a strong interest within the practice. |
